Hunter Schnauzer & Terrier Mix Cedar Rapids, IA

This sweet little terrier (possibly schnauzer) mix is a very shy boy. He is about a year old and weighs 25 pounds. He was rescued from a backyard breeder in another state and we're not sure he was treated very well. Hunter will need a quiet environment without a lot of people in and out. We will be looking for a home with a single person or a couple. Please note that we have witnessed that Hunter is very leery of most men. While he is living in a foster home with two senior dogs and a cat, we think he would prefer to be the only dog as he gets jealous when the others get attention. He also needs a very secure fenced yard with access directly from the home for him to hang out in safely.

Hunter needs to learn to trust you. Once he does, he will follow you around so he doesn't miss anything you might be up to. We know Hunter's adopters will need to be patient with him to help him through his fears. It will just take some time. It would be very helpful if you have experience with a timid/puppy mill dog. We know the right home is out there and we will take our time to find it.
