Meet Hulu

Hulu is a wonderful dog. She gave birth at Animal Control on 9/4/24 to 3 puppies, 2 of which survived. She and her 2 babies were then transferred to us 9/5/24 and one of our board members took them home to foster. Hulu was about 3 years old and 50 lbs. when she came in on 9/5/24. Hulu is sweet and docile and would love a forever home. Her 2 puppies named Hefty and Huba are also up for adoption. Hulu and her puppies are now at the shelter. Prior to that when they were in the foster home, they got along great with other dogs and enjoyed the big yard and the lake. Having a small taste of a real home for a while, Hulu is a bit sad to be at the shelter now but was moved there so adopters could see her and to make room for dogs more in need of the foster space.

Before leaving her temp foster home she was in the process of house breaking, so has had some house training. Her foster mom said the following: “Hulu was with another foster dog who is dominant but it didn’t phase her. Hulu's personality: happy, curious, eats well, loves to chase a ball and squirrel. Needs to build trust first, but once established, she will give love back. Loves to be petted, talked to and given attention. Full of energy, she will bounce and jump on her walks. Hard to get a harness on her because she is so excited to go on a walk. Doesn't bark, unless she is protecting her babies from a millipede. Yes that happened in the middle of the night when her puppies were smaller. She wanted to make sure I removed the big bug so it didn’t get her puppies. I had to show it to her in the paper towel and let her watch me toss it outside.” Call (434) 374-8076 or email lakecountryspca@yahoo.com to adopt. You can also visit Mon-sat from 12-4pm without appt. at 11764 Hwy. 15, Clarksville, VA.
