Meet Hugo

Hugo was purchased as a puppy to a couple who lived in an apartment building. So little, quiet, and fluffy, THEN he grew up to be a typical malamute puppy! Howling when left alone and destructive when bored. Luckily he had people looking out for his best interest. Instead of being bounced around, Hugo ended up with a Malamute savvy foster mama who reached out to us to help find him his forever home. Currently, Hugo weighs about 90 lbs. but will grow up easily up to 120 lbs.

Hugo is being taught what to do using positive rewards-based training. Hugo is fortunate that his foster mama is a professional dog trainer and is learning to be a good canine citizen. He is learning "leave it" and crate training. He does well playing with other dogs outside the house and may be able to live with a female companion.

Hugo will need to continue puppy training class to keep his mind busy and learn good manners. This is especially important as he becomes a teenager.

If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog, please complete an application online via our website: https://www.chaamp.org/ or email: CHAAMPapplication@gmail.com for an application.

Your application helps CHAAMP determine a good match based upon your lifestyle, other pets, etc. We are happy to work with you. A home visit is required prior to all adoptions. You can visit the Malamutes once you're approved for adoption. Alternatively, you may volunteer and learn how positive reinforcement brings out the best in Malamutes.

CHAAMP accepts applications from Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington DC.

ADOPTION FEES
~Adult dogs (two-seven years old): $275.00
~Older dogs (eight years old or over): $100.00
~Puppies (6 months - 1 year): $350.00
~Puppies (under 6 months): $375.00

All Malamutes are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccines. Adoption fees help us cover these costs. Puppy fees are higher because they require more vet visits for vaccines.
