Meet Houdini
Hi, my name is Houdini! I am a 10 month old, 65 lb mystery mix. I am a little under weight right now but I’m working on my gains. ?
I was named after the great escape artist because I was very scared of people and used to run from them when I was first brought to PPAWS. I am known to disappear if I don’t feel secure in my environment!
I had been left outside with my brothers and sister my whole life, so it has taken me some time to learn to trust humans. Despite the horrific conditions in which I spent the first 8 months of my life, I am the sweetest pup. I am still very wary of new people, so please don’t be offended if I shy away from you! I am fearful of men, especially big, tall ones!
I love to run and play with my furry foster brother! We are like two peas in a pod! I am amazing with all other dogs. It is a requirement that I go to a family with another well-behaved, social dog, as I still need to learn social skills from my new brother or sister. I pick up on cues from other dogs and am a fast learner, so having a good fur sibling is a must.
I tend to ignore cats and chickens. That said, I am still young so I will try to play with anything that plays with me.
I am house trained and kennel trained, but I have very severe separation anxiety. I should not be left in a kennel all day! Please do not apply to adopt me if you are unable to keep me company.
I sleep on my foster mommy instead of in my kennel and I am happy as can be—all I need is a bed and some snuggles.
I won’t hold my potty forever so please don’t forget to let me out. Remember—I am still young and I am learning.
I walk well on a leash but I am scared of strangers! I will pull away and try to hide if I encounter one.
I am incredible with children. I have never shown any signs of aggression, but I am protective of little ones.
I am neutered, and up to date on all of my shots! I’m a big boy now.
I need a relaxed environment, doggy mentor, and a family who will be patient with me! Could you give me the love and security that I so desperately need? Please apply to be my furever family! My adoption fee is $200.00 and helps cover the cost of my medical bills.
