Meet Honey (Fostered in Omaha)
Honey came from a shelter in Oklahoma. She was originally found as a stray, and then adopted out after the owner never claimed her. Unfortunately she was returned after the coronavirus broke out. A kind animal control officer took her in until she could be brought to our rescue.
Honey is in foster care to help her learn how to manage her excitement levels. She gets very mouthy when she gets stressed, anxious, or excited, but her foster home is currently working with a trainer to help her be the best version of her self! Despite her behaviour, once she gets to know you and settles down she is a big LOVER and wants to be with you! She will quitely lay by your feet when you are cooking and wait for treats. She walks well on a leash and her potty training is coming along well. At this time we are unsure of how well she would do with other dogs in a home. She has previously been around other dogs with mixed results. Honey will need an experienced, patient owner who will be willing to continue her training. Her foster asks that she is adopted within ~30 minutes of the Omaha area.
Because of her mouthing she will need a home without children under the age of 12.
If you would like more information on Honey, please send us an email and we will have her foster mom contact you.
The adoption fee is $275 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.
Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission. If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee. It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member.
*****We are currently operating by appointment only during the social distancing stage of quarantine. If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to email@example.com.
Someone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal. If so, they will provide instructions for completing the application. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home. The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster. If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit.
