Meet Honey (Fostered in Omaha)
Honey came from a shelter in Oklahoma. She was originally found as a stray, and then adopted out after the owner never claimed her. Unfortunately she was returned after the coronavirus broke out. A kind animal control officer took her in until she could be brought to our rescue. Honey has been with Town and Country since the end of March and she truly deserves a forever home.
Honey is in foster care to help her learn how to manage her excitement. She gets very mouthy when she gets stressed, anxious, or excited, but her foster home is currently working with a trainer to help her be the best version of her self! She has made MUCH progress and despite being a bit crazy at first, once she gets to know you and settles down she is a big softy who wants to cuddle.
Honey is quiet in the house and in the crate. She enjoys daily walks but is also content to spend the day lounging on the couch when it gets too hot. She also walks well on a leash and is potty trained.
Honey doesn't do well with on leash greetings toward other dogs but seems to enjoy the company of her foster's resident dogs. She would do well either as an only dog or with a well-mannered resident dog that will play without getting too rough. Honey's ideal home would be with an experienced, patient owner who will continue her training. Her foster asks that she is adopted within ~30 minutes of the Omaha area.
Because of her mouthing she will need a home without children under the age of 12.
If you would like more information on Honey, please send us an email and we will have her foster mom contact you.
The adoption fee is $275 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures.
Honey is fostered in Omaha and cannot be viewed at the shelter in Papillion.
