Meet Hilary!

Hilary is what we like to call at Heinz 57, she's got a little bit of everything! Her mom is a lab / catahoula / husky mix and we have no clue about her dad. She's on the medium side and weighs about 48 pounds and is 3 years old. Hilary is fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and ready to find her forever home!

Hilary came to us from a hoarding situation where she was living in a garage. Although she had a rough start to her life, Hilary is ready to leave the past behind her and find a family who will love and cherish her.

Hilary is extremely dog friendly and enjoys the company of other dogs. We would say that she has a low-medium energy level. She gets so excited for cuddles and will happily curl up on the couch or in bed with you if you'll let her. She plays great with other dogs!

Hilary hasn't been cat tested yet, so we're not sure how she would do with cats. We're happy to cat test her for any serious potential adopters with cats.

Hilary doesn't currently live with children, but we don't foresee any issues with kids because Hilary is so affectionate. We would suggest older children who are able to respect boundaries as Hilary can be nervous meeting new people. Once she knows that you're safe, she'll be cuddling you in no time!

Hilary is great on the leash and will walk calmly next to you. If a man she doesn't know is approaching, she will slow down so that she can walk behind you.

Hilary is fully potty trained and crate trained! Her foster mom leaves her out to free roam and she does well with this too.

Hilary is great about sharing her food, toys and treats with the other pups in the home!

Hilary is such a loving girl! She is goofy and SO sweet. She really loves to bond with her person. She follows me around like a little shadow. If I lay down she comes to me and cuddles. She loves belly rubs. If she sees I am getting ready to leave the house, she tries to join me. When I do have her join me she gets super excited and twirls! It's the cutest thing. She really is a good girl and has so much love to give. The only "quirk" I have noticed with Hilary is she is shy meeting new people. She takes a little bit to warm up, but once she does, she will love you ENDLESSLY. She seems to be more shy around men and we think that a man was not kind to her. She does warm up to men with time and patience. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body, she's just shy at first. She would love another dog in her forever home. She doesn't need much as far as activity - she's good with a low to moderate amount of exercise. Most importantly, she just needs a patient home. Hilary is an easy going dog who is ready to give you all the love she has!

Hilary really knows how to make you feel so loved. I love her goofy personality and how resilient she is. Despite being kept in a shed all her life, she really is such a happy-go-lucky dog. She gets along well with all the dogs in my house and reads cues of other dogs really well. She is very smart and highly food motivated. She is such a cuddler and loves to sleep in bed with me. She follows me around like my little shadow. If I am in the kitchen cooking or washing dishes, she likes to sit next to me and just watch or hang out. At home she really does come out of her shell and I wish the whole world could see what an amazing girl she is. She is usually quiet when we go out and lays at my feet.
