Hickory Border Collie & Australian Shepherd Mix Chestertown, MD

Hickory was turned over to our shelter partner as a border collie/aussie mix. At 70lbs, and in good shape, it seems that perhaps something else is in the mix as well. Regardless, Hickory is a delightfully sweet young (@2 years) guy who just wants to be with his people and do fun stuff.

Hickory LOVES playing with other dogs (see video in comments) and has been great with every dog he has met. Here, he has ignored the chickens and cats, though no promises in his new home -- I'm with him, and call him off before he has a chance to be dumb.

Hickory will do best in an active home that enjoys games, hiking, and long walks, and while we think he would be ok as an only dog, he'd love to have another playful dog in his home.

Hickory is well crate trained, and appears to have been previously housebroken. He located in Maryland. We do not ship dogs, and will not be adopting him outside of the mid Atlantic region.

An application must be submitted prior to 'matching' an adopter with a dog as all dogs do not fit into all homes. We pride ourselves in our adoption process, we take the time to get to know our adopters so that we can place a dog with them that they can enjoy for years to come.

Please understand that we will not discuss dogs with individual adopters until after the application process is completed.

Our rescue does not have a public facility, therefore there are no visiting hours. Appointments to visit with the available dogs are made after the application process has been completed by our staff.

To assist any dog within the MABCR organization, please consider making a donation to the general fund or to the medical fund. All dogs coming into our rescue are fully vetted (s/n and core vaccines) prior to adoption.
