The Milo Foundation AnimalID is 28403 and the Current Location is in Foster Care. Please see our website www.milofoundation.org for the current status of this animal. Hey was found in Leona Canyon, part of the Anthony Chabot Regional Park in Oakland, on July 20th, 2018. He was lurking in the bushes near the creek. It took about an 1.5 hours from when I first saw him to when I was finally able to put a leash on him. I had 6 other dogs with me at the time, who were very helpful with getting him comfortable enough for me to get close to him. He liked the other dogs quite a lot, but was not so sure about me.Ideal new home: The type of home that I believe would work best for him would have dog door access to a well fenced yard. He benefits from being able to let himself out during the night, as he can't always hold his bladder until morning. His ideal new owner would be able to take him to work or would work from home. So far he has not been great at being left home alone for more than an hour. If this isn't an option, I think he can do it, but would need yard access and not be able to get through/under/over the fence. Behavior with other dogs: He is a fairly well behaved dog who gets along well with most other dogs, big or small. He is better with less hyper dogs, which he sometimes finds annoying, but it really depends on the dog, sometimes he likes them quite a lot. He has bitten one dog while with me, but it was a defensive bite. A Labrador attempted to guard a resource from him (something they were sniffing), attacking Hey! , who bit back, tearing the Lab's lip. He sometimes growls at dogs when he first meets them if they meet face to face, but with supervision he has always been able to get over it pretty quickly and learn to coexist without conflict. He has met a few dogs he is open to playing with, but being on the older side of life, he doesn't have a whole lot of play energy in him. He does like the attention though. Behavior with cats, people, children: So far he has been great around cats, but I've only seen him around 2 different cats. He pretty much ignores them. He is timid at first around new people,This is the Animal Description Footer
