Hernandez is a 5-year-old spayed female pit bull weighing in at 67lbs with a big heart and a playful side. Originally adopted as a puppy in 2020, she sadly found her way back to the shelter this year as a stray-and was never reclaimed. Now she's hoping for a second chance at a forever home that won't let her down.

Hernandez is friendly with people and keeps a very clean kennel. While she has a generally low energy level, don't let that fool you-she definitely has a fun, playful streak when it's time to engage. She loves interactive activities and perks right up when it's playtime!

She can be selective with other dogs and tends to show barrier reactivity, but she's much more relaxed around dogs when not separated by fences or kennels. A home where she can be the only dog, or one with thoughtful introductions to compatible friends, would be ideal.

Hernandez is also heartworm positive, but don't worry-the shelter will fully cover her treatment.
