Meet Hercules Bernard EC
I feel like I should be offuring you a pint of whiskey or bourbon from a barrel around my neck, but all I have to offur you is a swift drink out of the toilet bowl, is that something that would interest you? I guess I wouldn’t make a very good bartender after all if Toilet Water was always my cocktail of choice.
St. Bernards are known for our heroism and floofy coats, and movies like Beethoven. I would rather be known for my great manners and mastery at chasing cats but never actually attacking them, now that takes will power. I am a 1 year old, purebred St. Bernard at about 105lbs and a little underweight still.
I am great around many other large dogs, like a Lassie dog and an Irish Wolf Hound, it is like a story book of heroic giants around here. I seem to be house trained, good on leash and ride great in the car. My mutto is “always hope for the park, even if you know it will be the Vet.” Gotta have faith.
My social skills do need a bit of brushing up, almost as much as my rugged coat. I was found abandoned on a deer lease near Mexico. They are not sure of my history, but they think I was an outside dog mostly, because I prefer to be outside. Note to self: ask me that question again in the 100 degree summer, but for right now in winter, outdoors are cool.
I am not well socialized in the city and seem to enjoy being a country bumpkin. Gun shots don’t phase me, but city sounds make be wary. I will need a home that understands my personal space boundaries. I LOVE attention and rubs, but I get a little nervous if you grab my tail or squish my face. I do give a warning growl when you have entered the NO RUB ZONES, so I am okay with kids that understand the NO RUB ZONES. I do not like people who think they can rub all over me willy nilly like I am a bottle of coconut oil, so for best results, no young children or toddlers would be ideal and safest bet.
I am looking for a home that is well suited for a large fluffy young dog and will manage my idiosyncrasies, like boundaries and no rub zones. I really am hoping for a country cottage over a city condo and hope to have a BIG yard to romp in, hopefully with another large dog to pal around with. Do you fit my bill?
