Meet Henry Walton Jones
Adopt-a-BullBreed: Pit Bull Terrier Gender: Male Estimated Date of Birth: September 8, 2016 Size: 54 lbs Location: Acworth, GA
Sweet Henry was rescued by a field officer from Fulton County Animal Services when he was reported as roaming the neighborhood with a horrific gash in his neck from an embedded collar. The officer rushed him to the emergency vet where they cleaned him up. The entire time Henry was licking and snuggling with the officer and vet staff. He was so happy to be saved from his unknown but obviously terrible circumstances. Everyone at Fulton raved about Henry's disposition. One of our fosters stepped up to take Henry in and give him a chance to heal, and on June 15th this amazing boy got his freedom ride.
I am an inquisitive and loyal boy. I am often described as a goofy clown and I take it as a compliment. If you have ever spent time with a young boxer, I will remind you of their characteristics as I keep humans laughing with my expressions and fun personality. I follow humans around the home to see what you are up to as I just enjoying being with my people. I share my love with all the family members as snuggles are for everyone. I am the best of both worlds as I can be a couch potato or a hiking buddy. I enjoy a daily activity such as a walk to get some energy out and then I am ready to lounge around. I have good leash manners and can play fetch. I am a star student at doggy daycare since I play well with others.
I am housebroken and go to the door when I need to go outside and I quickly do my business. I patiently watch my foster-sister finish her meal while the humans supervise and do not try to steal any of hers. I also wait patiently and take treats gently in a multiple dog situation. I share the water bowl, Nylabones, the couch, humans, the bed, and the back of the SUV hatch with foster-sister as I am not territorial. I give an abundance of kisses to humans and fur-sibling. I ride well in the car and do not get carsick. I do NOT dash out the door, turn over trashcans, drink out the toilet, or chew on unapproved items. I do not have accidents or mark inside homes. I can walk or hike alongside another dog with a coupler as well. In my foster homes, I have always had a foster sibling who I enjoyed playing with. I would prefer to have a sibling, but if I am exercised well and have a backyard to play in, I may not need one. In my foster homes, children were not present; however, I will likely do well as long as the boundaries are established. I have met children and politely sit so that they can love on me. My favorite thing is to give them gentle kisses. When kids are used to larger dogs, we are instantly buddies. I adapt well when left with a sitter. I am food motivated and learn quickly. I am not suitable for a home with cats.
I LOVE: walks, hikes, carrying a hiking pack, exploring new places, fetch, playing chase or wrestling with other dogs, chewing Nylabones, napping while snuggling, and learning new things.
My vocabulary consists of: shake, sit, stay, wait, off, bye bye, pee, poop, leave it, no, drop it, come, Henry
