PLEASE READ INFORMATION BELOW:
This beautiful sweet boy is 6 year old Henry. He is a low to medium energy bundle of joy who loves a good head scratch! Henry will be your number one fan, he loves to be with people and would prefer to be the only doggy in your family.
Henry along with 4 of his siblings were rescued by animal control from a neglect situation in West Virginia, until he made his way to us here where he has come a long way since then. Henry has been through many things living outside including his little ears being bitten up by flys but that does not stop Henry from being the sweetest and definitely the silliest doggy you could find! ?
Although he has tested positive for heart worm he has already began his treatment on August 27th! This treatment is provided by the shelter so you don’t need to worry about anything other than taking care of this angel during the duration of this treatment. There is different stages in the treatment some including limited activity meaning very short walks, etc. but all this information on his treatment would be explained to you with further interest in adopting Henry. Once his treatment is over and he is all good to go Henry would be a perfect companion for nice walks where he can watch the world go by!
When first meeting Henry he can be a bit scared but give him not even 5 minutes and he will absolutely love you! He enjoys spending time with people as much as he can and people love him just as much in turn. He walks very well on the leash and is extremely food motivated which can be very helpful!
Henry is very affectionate, he will instantly lay his head in your hands and start to fall asleep. He loves to sleep and lay with his paws crossed and his little tail never stops wagging, he is definitely the happiest, sweetest boy you will ever meet!

What are your Fees?... Base adoption fee is $350 for adult dogs and puppies. To this, we add a $30 microchip fee, which we register for you, and a 6 month supply of heartworm preventative. Heartworm preventative costs $40-60 depending on the weight of the dog. This means that a large dog will total $420.00 and an extra large dog will total $440.00.
Why can't I adopt a FREE dog?... Our adoption fee covers many procedures which cost much more for us then the amount we ask for from you. We spay/neuter all pets, and we give them their first round of vaccines (canine distemper, bordatella, Rabies if age appropriate). At a typical vet clinic this would cost you $500 at minimum for the surgery, and each vaccine is roughly $35 each. Even if your adopted dog does not have all of its shots due to the mandatory waiting period between booster shots, we offer vaccinations at the low cost of $20/shot. We test all dogs for heartworm disease and tickborn illnesses such as Lymes. We never euthanize a heartworm positive dog, and treatment routinely costs us $3000/dog. We collect a fecal sample from every rescued dog and run a microscopic parasite test. Any parasites found will be treated with two rounds of the appropriate dewormer. We treat all dogs for fleas and ticks with Advantage. If a dog has significant dental disease or "very dirty teeth", we will perform a dental cleaning when the dog has its spay/neuter surgery. A dental cleaning with extractions would cost you upwards of $400-600 at your local vet clinic.
ALSO NOTE... Small Miracle is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. We survive off of our adoption fees and donations from the community. We are a non-profit animal rescue and do not receive income from tax revenue as some county shelters do.
