Wow, I am still a little awe struck that I am here right now. I wished and hoped for so long that I would find a family of my own. For the longest time though, that wish never came true. I kept living the life of a loner. Wandering from place to place just looking for somewhere that I belong. Eventually, I wandered up to someone's house and they took me in but could not keep me. After my stray hold, I ended up with this rescue. Now I am in a super loving foster home and things great!
My name is Helena and I am a 2 year old female Great Pyrenees. I currently weigh around 90lbs. I know my coat isn't in the best shape right now, but being on my own and not getting good nutrition will do that to a girl. The good news is that it is already starting to come back in, and here soon I am going to be a knockout of a fluffball! Now, I am sure you are wondering what my personality is like. I have probably peeked your interest but you can't just jump right into adopting another dog....as much as you want to ? No worries though, I got you covered! I am friendly when meeting new people but a little reserved. My fosters have not had the chance to take me to any public outings so I can't say how I would do. I am not a dog who jumps on people for hugs. I would rater just sit in front of you and enjoy the pets. I have a calm and laid back personality, mixed with a few playful spurts. I am nervous when it comes to getting into the car, but once in I ride like a champ. I walk ok on a leash, but could use some more working with on it. I have not attempted to chew on anything that I shouldn't. Currently I am not interested in playing fetch, with toys, or in water. I don't seem to have any food aggression, I am just not the kind of dog that likes to start drama. Same goes for resource guarding. You keep the toys and I will pass out on the couch.
I am potty and kennel trained. When no one is home I am given free roam of the house and do great. At night, I like to sleep on the couch. Currently I don't seem to be a big barker. Given my personality, I do believe I would do fine in an apartment that can commit to exercising me properly. I am good with other dogs and cats. I have been around teenagers and have done well with them.

Welp, now you know my personality. Time to see if you are a good fit for me! I am pretty much the PYRfect girl so I would fit into pretty much any home. I would be fine in a home with or without other dogs. I have not been around any young kids, so cannot say how I would do with them. To finish off, I am going to add a little something that my foster said about me
"Helena is very laid back, mellow dog. She gets along well with all the dogs that are at our house. There is not much to say about her because she is an easy dog!"

My adoption fee is $225. That includes my DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordatella shots. I will be micro-chipped, heart-worm tested, ehrlichia tested, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on my heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.

I am being fostered in Purcell, OK. Before you ask, we do adopt out of state. You should know though that we do require adoptive families to pick up their new dog. Those long transports are just too stressful, same goes for shipping us. Sooooo, if you are out of state it looks like we will be road tripping!
