This dog is ready for her forever home!

Helen was born around January 2022. She is an Australian shepherd mix weighing in around 30 pounds and almost fully grown. Helen is dog, cat, and people friendly. She walks great on a leash and loves to play with her friends. Since coming to rescue she has done wonderful in her kennel and is kenneled when alone given she’s still a puppy. She has not had any accidents so we would confidentially say she is kennel/house trained!
Helen is scheduled to soon be spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.

An inquiry, question, or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information.

2022 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals:
Puppies under 12 months - $350
Dogs over 12 months - $250


*Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match!
