Meet Helen
Hi I'm Helen, an 8 year old lovable ole gal weighing about 22 pounds and I'm named after Helen Keller....yep you got it! I'm visually impaired and have some hearing loss too. I might just see shadows and although it takes me a while to get used to new places I'm super comfortable in my foster home! I can find everything I need and want so you can bet old puggies can learn new tricks and I can do this in a new home too after a little of time.
I love food, people and peace and quiet plus a few toys to entertain me! Lots of commotion and noise make me nervous and that's a BIG issue for me to feel comfortable in my golden years! So children would need to be older and respectful of seniors not young whippersnappers for me. Not to be too picky but I'd do best without too many steps in a home or I'm liable to walk right off and again a BIG issue for me. Possibly a baby gate would work if there were just a couple of steps.
So how to live with an older sweet puggy lady, that resembles a loaf of bread, you ask? Well, I'm happy to tell you! Give me my eye drops that I will tolerate every day, show me where the water bowl is a few times, walk me around your house slowly to get the lay out down, put some warm water on my dry food to soften it, give me a quiet place to nap in a bed or in my crate, and help me explore safely outside on a leash! I also love scratches, scritches and attention!
If you see us as a love match in my forever home please apply for me at www.nalarescue.org and I'll have someone read me the applications!
