Heidi's Story
Meet Heidi!

4.5 years
70 lbs
Female spayed

Heidi is a beautiful, smart German Shepherd who came into rescue through no fault of her own after her original owner lost their home. Now she’s ready for a fresh start and a family who can give her the stability and love she deserves.

Heidi is fully house trained and crate trained, making her an easy addition to the right home. She has a high energy level and thrives with plenty of playtime and mental stimulation—but don’t worry, she’s just as happy to crash hard and enjoy a good nap after a busy day.

This girl loves toys, especially hard toys and bones, and will happily keep herself entertained. She’s very food motivated, making her eager to learn, and she’s currently working on improving her leash skills, longer car rides, and tackling stairs. Short car rides are a favorite though—especially with the windows down so she can take in all the smells.

Heidi does well with other dogs and has a fun, playful energy. She hasn’t been tested with kids or cats yet. She’s a moderate barker and makes a great alert dog, adding to her natural shepherd protectiveness.

Personality-wise, Heidi is a total gem. She’s affectionate, athletic, goofy, and incredibly smart. She’s curious about everything and adorably boops objects with her nose to investigate. She’s confident and extroverted, but also independent, persistent, and protective of her people. And when the day winds down? She’s absolutely snuggly.

Heidi would thrive in an active home that can continue her training, provide plenty of exercise, and appreciate her big shepherd personality. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, intelligent companion with a heart as big as her paws, Heidi might just be your girl.

Interested in adopting?
