We received a plea from the shelter about Harvey. He was not walking very well, was skittish and even tried to bite a kennel attendant. But it was clear to us that he was neglected and needed our help, so we rescued him from the shelter and had him seen by a vet. He was underweight, covered in dirt and bushes and although shy was extremely sweet with everyone. We found out that Harvey does have some arthritis that is very common in his breed so he is on some supplements that he seems to be doing well on.

This sweet old boy is looking for a special person that is looking for an easy going senior dog companion. Harvey would love to be in a home with another dog, even though he is not interested in playing he does really enjoy the companionship. He loves people watching and even though he doesn't participate he loves to be front and center where the action is with a happy wagging tail. He enjoys slow walks around the neighborhood and is very easy going and calm

Harvey does have some issues with incontinence which are being managed with Prion; he will need this long term. However, he still has moments of "dribbling" so it's important that he be taken outside often. We are looking for a home with easy access to a enclosed secure yard for him to get to. He is crate trained which helps over night. We also prefer that he be in a home where someone is home often as he loves to just hang out all day with his people. Harvey is certainly a gentle soul.
