Hi there, I'm Harry! I'm friendly and affectionate and lots of fun. When you see my tail wag and a happy, content look on my face, you'll know that I'm ready to be your dog. You see, I've been part of a family before. I know what it means to feel special and loved and like you belong. I can't wait to share all of that with you. I hope you want that too.

I'm a handsome, 5-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix, with the sweetest smile, gentle eyes, and a happy, pleasant, delightful personality. I'm even already fully housebroken and crate trained too. How about that? I first came to Wayside a few years ago, as a transfer from the shelter in Joplin, MO, when they didn't have space for me. I was adopted by a nice family and we've been together ever since. Life changes though, I understand that. My family felt like I needed more time, attention, and exercise than they could give me. So, now I'm back at the shelter, searching for a new family who will be a great match for me. The shelter is sort of a stressful place for me and I long for a soft couch and a special person to cuddle with. I hope maybe that will be you!

I'm one smart cookie and I know all sorts of commands that I can't wait to show you. I'm excited and eager to learn more too, so please continue to train and teach me. I've been through a lot of change lately and it's confusing to me. If you stay patient with me and give me a little extra time to settle into my new home, I will quickly learn my new routine and I'll be such a nice friend. I will thrive in a positive environment with people who praise and encourage me when I'm a good boy. I want so much to make you happy! I like to lean into you to show my affection. The volunteers out at Wayside love that about me, as I contentedly hang out, enjoying our time together. I'm happy and friendly with everyone I meet and I have such a nice temperament.

I love to run and play and go for walks. I also like to relax and curl up next to you on the couch and just do nothing. I'm a great combination that way. I was friendly with the cats I lived with in my previous home. I need a home without other dogs though. I promise to give you so much attention that I will be enough! I'd love a fenced yard, but it would need to be a privacy type of fence. I'm looking for a mostly calm and quiet home without a lot of commotion. I like to have a safe place to eat my meals in peace, where I know no one will bother me. Because of this, I need a home with kids over the age of 10. I like older kids just fine. I will be such an incredible companion for the right family. I don't ask for much and I give a lifetime of love in return.

All I want is a home and family of my own once again. I'll be a good boy, I promise. I'll show you how it feels to be loved unconditionally and I'll be your friend every single day forever. I'm so good at that!

ADOPTION INFORMATION: All Wayside Waifs pets are spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations prior to adoption. Please note that in order to make the best match possible, potential adopters must come to the Wayside Waifs in person to meet with an adoption counselor and complete the adoption process. All members of the household (including other pets, if possible) should be present to ensure the chosen pet is compatible with everyone. We do not place holds or do adoptions over the phone and we do not ship pets.
