Meet Harry
Meet Harry, the most gentle and kind soul wrapped into a furry four legged friend!
Harry came to us because of a medical condition – but more on that in a minute. This handsome boy is a year old and weighs 45 pounds. He is potty trained and kennel trained. Harry is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations and preventatives, heart-worm negative, and micro-chipped!
Now on to how Harry became a Misfit. Harry was born with something called megaesophagus. Don’t google it – Dr. Google will not give you an accurate depiction of this condition, we promise! Harry’s megaesophagus was caused by a textbook persistent right aortic arch. What does this mean? Well Harry was able to have surgery to correct the cause, and is now in the stages of “life after megaesophagus”! He no longer has to eat in his chair – he eats out of a raised feeder and still requires his kibble to be soaked, but hey, who doesn’t love a nice soft dinner?! Other than that, Harry is all things typical dog – he plays, he runs, he jumps, he drinks water, he eats treats…he even naps like any other dog.
Harry loves other dogs! He lives with foster siblings of all sizes and ages and loves everyone. Harry is very gentle and will do great with any family and kids of all sizes. He barks to let you know he’s hungry, but other than that he’s a pretty quiet and polite guy as well. He lives with cats in his foster home and really hasn’t had much interest in them.
This happy guy has been in foster care since he the day he was born, and with his current foster since he was 3 months old. For that reason, he'll need some time and patience to adjust to his new home and family. He's got a sweet, delicate soul and may be a little unsure to start but just needs a little time. On walks, he will need to use a harness to keep from putting pressure on his throat, but other than that he can go on adventures and would love to be someone’s hiking buddy. Harry deserves to have a family to call his own and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for this very special guy!
