Meet Harry - ADOPTED!!
While Harry has quickly acclimated to sharing space with the other dogs, he is most focused on his human. He really wants and values attention from people. Initially, he was anxious in his foster home after losing his home and family, which is to be expected. After a week or two, his anxiousness subsided, but he still stays close to his foster mom's side. Day by day, he's learning to enjoy some independent time, exploring the backyard, and playing with his pup buddies.
Harry's foster mom, Johanna, describes him as a confident and affectionate dog who fancies himself a lap dog and loves to snuggle on the couch. He is house trained and takes potty breaks in the backyard. His foster mom has been using a baby gate to try to contain him, but he will push through the baby gate to get to his human if they are still in the home. She has not yet tried the crate, but it's a tool that could be helpful. Harry sleeps with his foster parents and their pack in bed at night and is a big snuggler who likes to burrow under the covers. He has no issues sharing space, and takes treats gently too.
Johanna describes Harry as having a moderate energy level and good social skills. He will run with the other dogs, and likes to explore in the woods and chase small critters. He has excellent leash skills and is not a strong puller or reactive around other dogs, and rides well in the car too. He has done well meeting the teens who come to the home, as well as friends and family who visit. He may jump up on visitors in excitement, so Johanna is correcting him and using a spray bottle to reinforce, but he really likes people.
Harry is a pup who needs some guidance and boundaries and would benefit from an owner who knows how to lead. He aims to please and needs a consistent routine and someone to teach him the rules of their home. He's used to living with other dogs, so a puppy buddy in his new home is preferred.
**Preference will be given to homes with another, social confident dog**
