Our beloved Harold is a very elderly Spaniel mix who somehow got out on the ice by himself and fell. He attempted the canine version of "I've fallen and I can't get up" until someone heard his barking and called the shelter.
He was frozen to the ice and when They rescued him and took him to the vet he had to be treated for hypothermia.
He has recovered from his experience but no one ever came for looking for him, so now he needs a home to keep him warm and safe and loved for the rest of life
.
He has arthritis and some kidney issues, but still has a joy for life. He eats well and likes to amble around and explore his yard. He's doing well on going outside to the potty and keeps his sleeping area clean.
He's about 35 pounds, can't see or hear well and isn't familiar with a leash, But he's good tempered and likes attention, pampering and grooming. This guy deserves some special TLC and we would love to see him get into a home that has an abundance of love to share with him.

We show most of our adoptable pets at PetSmart, Utica, each Saturday from 11 to 3. If you are interested in a particular pet, we suggest you email: rescueme93@yahoo.com to see if that pet will be there.
Applications are approved on the basis of the best and most appropriate home for the animal, not on a first come, first served basis. On site adoption available to pre-approved applicants only.
Adoption Fees
Senior : 9 & up $100-$175
Adult : 2-8 $250
Young adult: 6 months to 2 years $275
Puppies: 6 weeks to 6 months $300
Adoption fees go towards vaccines, heartworm prevention/testing, flea/tick prevention, spay/neuter and other medical problems that may arise.
MMAR is an all volunteer, foster based, 501 (c) 3, non profit organization. Without your donation, wonderful pets like these have to be passed by because we cannot afford their care.
