Meet Hans
Hans is a 2 year old Dachsund and Pit Bull mix boy that weighs 33 pounds. He has the perfect squatty and huggable sized body! He came from an overcrowded municipal shelter in the North Georgia area that was struggling to feed all of the dogs in their care.
Here is what one of our volunteers had to say about him after taking him out on the town:
I knew dogs were different creatures when you remove them from their kennels and get them on neutral grounds. I *thought* 2 year old Hans was a confident, strong willed pup, but, he really isn’t. He’s a bit shy and reserved at first, which threw me, so I had to change my tactics. We went to the park and did a sniffari, chatted about our hopes and dreams and then got silly. I gave him some leash freedom since I knew I could outrun him with my longer legs. He’s a cute little nut. I’m betting he trends towards the couch Tater side, and enjoys a short romp in a yard. He can be reactive to dogs at the kennel, and he’s also gotten along swimmingly with some, but my heart of hearts thinks he’d do just fine as an only. His focus was mostly on me this entire outing. He observed some dogs in the dog park area, but made no attempt to go investigate. He’s about as snausage-y as a dog can get, and would make a fine and fun pet."
We're open Wednesday - Sunday 12 - 5 p.m but are doing meet & greets and adoptions by appointment only.
The adoption fee is $135 which includes a free veterinary exam within 2 weeks of adoption at local participating vets, up to date vaccinations, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, dewormer, flea preventative, microchip, & spay or neuter.
