Adopt-a-BullBreed: Pit Bull Gender: Male Estimated Date of Birth: June 6, 2018 Size: 80 lbs Location: Marietta, GA
Hank, formerly known as Tank, came into Fulton County on the ACO truck with badly butchered, painful, and infected ears from a horrible, home crop-job. Lucky for Hank, we had an open foster with a big heart that agreed to take him in. The infection from his brutally cropped ears has been treated and he has been fully vetted.
Handsome Hank is enjoying life in foster care. He is a big, handsome boy and is still growing. Hank is wonderful and silly and very emotionally connected to his people in true pit bull fashion. He is very smart and knows sit and he happily goes into his crate when asked. He is crate trained and 90% housebroken as he is still working on how to communicate with his foster family that he needs to go outside, but he is steadily improving. This gorgeous boy will steal your heart - he knows when people are having a bad day and will comfort them accordingly by laying his big head in your lap. Hank is a medium energy kind of guy - he enjoys going for walks (he walks very nicely on leash) and he's very happy to play in the yard, but he's also content to lounge around all day. Not only does Hank adore people, he also loves other dogs. He is a 'talker' and is a vocal player, but he actually tends to be submissive to other dogs and listens to his bossier canine friends even if they are smaller than him. One of his best doggie friends is significantly smaller than him, weighing in at less than 15 lbs! Hank would also make an excellent travel companion - he rides well in the car and he loved his trip to the beach where he got to play in the sand and wade in the ocean water.
Hank has spent some time with our trainer due to some resource guarding and these issues are now quite manageable. Currently, he is fed meals in his crate and he cannot have balls or high-value items like antlers (although other toys are fine). Otherwise, Hank happily takes treats nicely and loves to play tug or chew on his Nylabone. He even shares his toys with his doggie-friends. Hank would be best in a home with older children (15+) and a family that will provide him structure while nurturing all the wonderful qualities he possesses. This boy has SO much love to give!
