Meet Hampton
Hampton is a handsome, smart, goofy, loving and affectionate Border Collie that needs an active family that is familiar with herding breed dogs.
This beautiful 1 year old Border Collie was picked up as a stray in SC. I have had him for about a month. He is not trained, but is so smart that he has picked up many commands quickly. He is cuddly, rests in the house (i.e.: not crazy to DO things), does like having a job, so carrying his frisbee in his mouth while walking is helpful.
He gets along fine with my two female Aussies, has no interest in cats or geese, is currently reactive with other dogs on leash, but that should change as he was just neutered. He doesn't chew furniture or shoes, or anything else.
We have visited other homes with dogs and gone to restaurants and he’s fine. He is anxious but adjusts. He originally was not good in cars, but that has changed. He’s anxious at the start, but calms down nicely.
I have a home situation that makes it difficult for me to give him the attention he needs. I would particularly love someone who was close to Charleston so that we can transition him slowly.
I would prefer that he goes to a home with a family that is experienced with herding breeds. If I did not already have two dogs and live in a rental where I am contracted to only have two, I would find a way to keep him!
Hampton is neutered, HW-, current on immunizations and on preventatives. If you think Hampton is a great fit for your family, please fill out our application.
