Hailey's Story

This beautiful girl is HAILEY and she has a very sweet and gentle personality. She's truly a special girl with such a striking look because she has one blue eye and one brown eye. She has a beautiful coat with beautiful markings as you can see in her photos. She's just about 1-2 years old and we think she's a Shepherd mix and she hardly sheds at all. When you first meet her, her happy & joyful demeanor shine through. She gets along beautifully with everyone she meets and other dogs too. She's living with a great Foster family on Long Island and they tell us that Hailey is such a great girl. She's very trusting and just wants to show you how loving she is. She loves going for nice walks in the neighborhood and wants to say hello to everyone she meets and isn't reactive to other dogs at all. She just wants to enjoy the sights and smells! Her next favorite thing is coming home and relaxing and taking a snooze. She's also a quiet girl...just likes to hang out and relax on the floor next to her peeps. She deserves the best in life and a loving family who will cherish her forever. She'd be great with a doggie sibling or could easily be a solo dog and long as she has lots of love around her. We think she'd thrive in a suburban setting and would love a fenced yard but it's not 'a must' as long as her family takes her for nice walks. She's fully housebroken and crate-trained and sleeps peacefully in her crate all night long. She's spayed up to date on all her vaccines and ready to find her forever family. Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (LRHRescue@gmail.com or 516-459-3509) to get more info on this sweet girl!

Long Road Home's Adoption Policy
Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes.   What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.
