Meet Gypsi

Please read this pup's entire bio before applying and please do not apply if your home/family is not what we are looking for this pup as we are very specific as this breed needs to be set up for success. Note that due to an unusually high number of applications at this time we are no longer able to respond to every application but we will reach out to the one (s) that seem like the perfect match.  Gypsi is a female 8 month old American Bully (born around end of 3/2020). She looks like a tiny pit bull but it is a different breed. She is short and stocky and only 25 lbs now, so she should mature at 35-45 lbs although we cannot promise. She is the prettiest shades of blue fawn/white and so so soft. She is a sweet, playful girl who is either 100 MPH Tasmanian devil with very sharp shark teeth or completely passed out snuggle bug, there is very little in-between time. She was placed with us by a well intentioned family who took on too much by getting this little girl so we intend to make sure her next home is 100% ready and prepared. She is good with other dogs, but is also a bully, so she is already pretty dominant once she gets to know them, so she would not be good for a home with a small dog or a senior dog as she will take advantage of them. Female bully breeds tend to generally do best with a male of equal or bigger size, she will challenge other dogs so another alpha female is not a good match. While she loves children, she is very mouthy with them in play and is too protective of them so children over 10 only please. She is a great little watch dog and ready to tackle anything she sees as danger to her pack so whomever adopts her will need to take her to training to channel that protective behavior into something positive. She will need lots of exercise, she is great on the leash, can do quite a long distance on walks already and will play fetch, ball and carry things in her mouth all day. She is not fully housetrained yet, but is working on it, she just needs frequent potty breaks.  This is not a beginner or novice dog, she needs an owner experienced in bully breeds with tons of training knowledge as she is already protective, occasionally dog reactive and is dominant with other dogs. Gypsi has already been thorough 2 weeks of board and train and knows all of her basic commands. This pup is not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. If you do not live within a 2 hr drive of Orange County, please do not apply. If you are interested in adopting one of our rescues, please visit our main website for adoption procedures at www.pupsandpals.net and then fill out our application. This pet is altered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has had a brief temperament evaluation to help us determine what type of a home he/she would thrive in. Please note that we put lots of time and effort to make sure our pets are ready to be someone's perfect pet before they go home.... and to make sure that we will have the best possible match for this pet we do require an : application, interview, adoption fee and a home visit.
Listed for adoption: 8/3/2020
Adoption fee: plus a $200 training deposit which will be refunded to you with proof of completing a training course within 60 days of adoption. She is not an easy pup and will need training, not just at home, but in a regular/scheduled setting with a professional.
PLEASE DO NOT call or email to see if a pet is available. We update our pages daily so if he/she is pictured here in the available dogs section, we are accepting applications at this time.
