Meet Gwynnie

Gwynnie would like to share her story with you! ?

And there I sat. Day in and day out in the shelter. I never expected that my owner would put me there. Never thought they would abandon me after I gave them 8 years of my life. Their decision to leave me there changed my life. Not only did I lose my home, family, and life but it caused me to sit in a kennel for 2 MONTHS! Over 60 days I stayed in a kennel. I watched people come and go, but why go for a senior when you can have a spry little puppy. I watched people fall in love and dogs get homes, but my family never came. I started to wonder if I would ever leave that darn kennel.

My day finally came through. After searching for a foster, someone finally stepped up for me! They were able to pull me and I became part of this rescue's fluffy butt family! My name is Gwynnie and I am an 8-year-old female Golden Retriever/Aussie mix. I weigh about 55lbs and won't get any bigger.

Ever since I ended up homeless I have been dreaming of a forever family. One that will love me for the rest of my life! I know it is a big decision so I have filled out this questionnaire to make sure you are 100% sure about me!

-How can someone adopt me?
The first step is to fill out an adoption app for me at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app
Once this app comes in, it will get sent on to my foster family and they will help me decide if we are a match or not.

-Where are you being fostered?
I am being fostered in Tulsa, OK.

Would I need to pick you up?
Yes, you would need to pick me up. This rescue does not send us on transports. It is less stress on us that way. Plus, you and I can already start bonding on the road trip home! ?

Can I adopt you even if I don't live in Oklahoma?
Yes, I am okay moving to a new state.

-Do I do well with strangers?
I have not really met anyone outside my foster family but I was good at the vet. And I was excited to meet my photographer.

-Do you jump on people?
No.

-Do you enjoy going places?
I have only been on walks…I pretty much ignore other people and dogs.

-What is your energy level like?
Curious and friendly.

-Do you enjoy walks?
Yes.

-Are you leash trained?
Yes.

-Do you like road trips?
I do well on car trips.

-Can I trust you to free-roam the house, even if I am away?
Yes.

-Where do you stay when no one is home?
Inside, and I am given free-roam of the house.

-Where do you sleep at night?
Usually on my foster's bed.

-Are you potty trained?
Yes.

-Are you kennel trained?
No, I hate them.

-Do you like playing fetch?
I am unsure.

-Do you like playing in the water?
I am unsure.

-Do you like playing with toys?

-Do you have any food aggression towards other animals?

No.

-Would you do okay living in an apartment?
Yes.

-Are you a big barker?
No.

-Are you good with other dogs?

I am unsure since my foster doesn't have any around.

-Can I hear what your foster has to say about you?
"Gwynnie is a sweet dog…she was shy at first but she is coming around, she is quiet and loves attention. Gwynnie got out of jail a few weeks ago, and I think is starting to realize she’s not going back!."

Phew! That took longer than I thought! Hopefully, all your questions about me were answered though! Before you apply to adopt me I have a few last things that I would like to discuss!

-What are you looking for in your new home?

Guys, I want a forever family. I want someone who will love me through my golden years. I want a more laid-back family. One that likes to go on walks sometimes, and other times likes to just chill. I would do fine as an only dog or in a home with other dogs. I am on the smaller/shorter side so would make an amazing buddy to take with you on errands. I am a friendly and happy girl. I think I would fit into almost any home environment as long as my family can give me lots of love and promise me forever! ♥

*My adoption fee is $150.

That includes my DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordatella shots. I will be micro-chipped, heart-worm tested, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.
