Meet Gwen

***Currently in training*** Adoptable soon!

Gwen is a 7 month old spayed female GSD pup that recently came to us along with 3 littermates when the owner was unable to find homes for all of the pups. Having a house full of 7 mo old GSD's was a bit much - understandably so! She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Gwen has also been started on a monthly heartworm, flea, and tick preventative.

When siblings stay together for as long as this crew did, we can see something called "littermate syndrome." The pups are very attached to each other, and that can interfere with their socialization with other dogs and with people. Gwen has been through some major life changes in the last few weeks, and the separation from her pack was a little tough, but we're finally starting to see this girl's true personality. She is looking for someone that understands she's still trying to figure this all out, and he's going to need some help along the way. Gwen has shown herself to be a bouncy playful girl and while she loves the other pups in her foster home, she's a lot at we would recommend no tiny or older fragile canine friends.

Gwen has had some trouble with crating at first and can be a bit of an escape artist...we would recommend a high quality crate and close supervision when out in the yard until she learns the boundaries. She just wants to be with her people at all times. Gwen is going to be a dog that bonds very strongly with her owner, so she will need someone to work on boundaries and socialization skills to prevent her from progressing with separation anxiety and social anxiety when in new situations. We would prefer to find a home that will take her to training to work on some of these key skills. Plus, it'll be a great way for her to build a bond and trust in her new family! She is going to be spending some time with one of our local trainers for a board and train in early November to get the basics started and set her up for success in her new home.

If you've read the above and think she sounds like the perfect match, we'd love to talk with you more. Her other siblings, Rocky, and Liam, are also available but we are not looking to place them together.
