Gus Terrier Mix Mentor, OH

This is Gus, a 5 year old, 22lb terrier mix. Gus was a stray that came into rescue completely filthy, matted and with a large tumor on his tail. He was immediately taken into surgery and had most of his tail amputated and his hair shaved down to the skin.

The first few weeks in his foster home, while he was recovering from surgery, he had to build a trust with his foster mom. With love and patience Gus has started to trust but will show displeasure if you do something he does not like.

Gus does have severe trust issues and needs a home that will give him the time he needs to build a trust and bond with his human. Overall, he is a sweet boy who loves to play with toys. He has an adorable personality and is very smart. Once he builds that trust he loves to be petted and have his belly rubbed.

He is 98% housebroken, loves to go on walks and car rides. Gus is a fun little guy and needs a forever home that will give him the love and patience he needs and deserves.
