TO CONTACT THE FOSTER HOME, email tina1023@gmail.com. DO NOT use the Petfinder form. Inquiries don't reach us.
GUS is a very special guy. I do not believe he has always been treated so kindly before being turned over to animal control as a stray. He is extremely sweet and loves to please but is also extremely timid. However since being in foster care we have found that Gus loves to be loved on. It doesn’t matter what you’re doing, Gus wants to be right with you. If I take 2 steps, Gus moves to sit at my feet.
His appetite and condition have improved significantly since being in a foster home with regular meals and basic care.
Gus is selective with his friends but can be in mixed company with no serious issues. He does show some food aggression and is crated for meals.
Gus needs someone very special to be his partner. He will turn on himself when overstimulated. He did not do well at the shelter as a result of this anxiety. He does not cause injury and it sounds worse than it is. His episodes only last a few seconds.
Gus is fine with children but can knock smaller ones over just wanting to be close and loved. He ignored the cat during introductions but has not been exposed to livestock yet.
Gus still isn’t 100% house trained yet but is getting used to going out the doggie door. He is ok in his crate as long as it isn’t for a prolonged period.
Gus is as friendly as they come. He just needs a patient, understanding partner to show him the good in the world and bring him out of his shell. You can see the smile in his eyes when you are speaking to him.
Gus is 3 years old and weighs 48 lbs. He is neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on preventative care.
Gus is located in Charleston, West Virginia. For questions, please contact tina1023@gmail.com.
