Guppy American Staffordshire Terrier & Pit Bull Terrier Mix San Diego, CA

2.5-year-old Guppy puppy might be older and bigger than an actual puppy, but his bubbly personality and zest for life are reminiscent of the joy and delight of puppyhood. This big lug is a total sweetheart who makes friends everywhere he goes and is just happy simply being alive!

Guppy had a rough start to life living with a “family” who tried to abandon him at a shelter because they “didn’t want him anymore,” before a kind family stepped in to hold onto him for a couple of weeks while a rescue was found. With no prior training, Gup had zero boundaries and no manners but a HUGE desire to please and be loved, which has made it a breeze for his foster family to do some behavioral training with him to help get him ready for just about any forever home.

Guppy’s great with dogs and loves to play, so he’d do best in a home with one or two other playful pups he can be besties with. He’s awesome with people but still forgets how big he is, so while he’s definitely capable of living with small children, he’d need a little help to ensure that he doesn’t get too wild playing with them. Additionally, Guppers hasn’t shown any real prey drive but he does get a little too excited around individuals of the feline persuasion, so cats aren’t recommended for him due to his size and exuberance for life.

Added perks! Guppy’s crate-trained, potty-trained, not destructive at all, likes to play and go for walks but is also happy being a couch potato, walks really well on-leash, sits and waits for his food, and takes treats gently. He’s also an awesome cuddler!

Guppy is an amazing guy…you don’t want to pass this little lovebug up!
