Gump Boxer & German Shorthaired Pointer Mix Lincoln, IL

Hi, my name is Gump! You might recognize my face, because sadly, I've been at HSLC for a while. I'm four years old and I'm a male. When people come to visit me at HSLC, I come on a little strong, but it's because I am territorial. Once I get outside into the dog run area, I love to play, run around, and get an occasional belly rub.

It takes me a little while to warm up to people, but once I know you and we're buddies, I'm a very sweet boy. I've experienced a lot of changes in my short life and HSLC has been my one constant. I know the volunteers here love me, but I really need to find my forever home.

I need a family without any other animals or young children. I need a family that is willing to put in time and energy to train me and teach me how to be a dog outside of a shelter. I need a family that will make me feel secure, and I will love you unconditionally.

A DNA analysis of my breed found that I am a mix of Boxer, Labrador Retriever, German Shorthaired Pointer, and American Bulldog.

I am house-trained, but since I've been at HSLC for so long, I will need a refresher when I get to my new home. I am neutered, microchipped and up to date with my vaccinations.
