Groot: ADOPTED!!!! American Bulldog & Pointer Mix Kansas City, KS

3/1/2018: Groot is a super cute American Bulldog/Pointer mix with a pretty red and white coat. He’s very friendly and loves people. Groot loves going for walks and running around and playing in the yard-- he LOVES playing with toys! (Be sure to watch his video!)

Groot also enjoys just hanging out with his human friends and relaxing. Groot walks very nicely on a leash. He sits for a treat and knows other commands. Groot doesn’t get along well with other dogs or cats, so he’ll need a home where he can be the only pet— and the center of attention!

Groot is 4 years old and weighs 60 lbs. He’s been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested for heartworms. He’s from Louisiana. He was in a city shelter there and his time was up, so we transferred him to our shelter to find him a home. He’s a cutie and a lot of fun! We've had Groot for a long time due to him needing a home without other pets. We'd love to find this goofy guy a good home.

> Our goal is to send you home with a healthy pet and any information and support you may need to help your new pet adjust to his or her new home. All of our dogs & puppies have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks, tested for heartworms (7 mo. and over), and are on monthly heartworm preventative. Puppies who are too young to receive all the necessary puppy boosters and/or first rabies shot may be brought back to us for those vaccines at no extra charge. You will also receive a leash, collar, coupons for pet supplies and services, toys, and educational materials. And we'll give your dog a bath before he or she goes home!

> Please note that we prefer and may require a fenced yard for many of our dogs. Exceptions are made on an individual basis depending on the dog's needs, the person's dog experience, the dog's and person's activity levels, home environment and other factors.

> An application is required to adopt a pet and applicants must meet our adoption requirements. If you decide you'd like to adopt one of our dogs, we reserve the pet for you but we generally don't send the dog home with you that same day.
