Gris German Shepherd Dog Mix Columbus, OH

Gris is a 90 lbs, sable German Shepherd who initially came to STS in July 2022 from a shelter in crisis. At the time, he was heartworm positive and weighed only 52 lbs. Now, after receiving the care he needed, Gris is a big, healthy, active boy!

Gris has spent the past several months being fostered by a dog trainer, and has done extraordinarily well. He is house broken, crate trained, and walks nicely on a leash. Fetch is his jam, and once he trusts you, he's an incredibly loving companion. He will need a home with an experienced handler. Because Gris has shown barrier and leash reactivity, he does best with slow and structured introductions. He will also do best in a home without other dogs or small children, and won't be the type of dog to hang out at bars and patios.

This incredibly resilient dog has so much love to give, and we are committed to finding him a home where he can thrive and be successful!

Adoption fee is $350 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, fecal/deworming, vaccines and prevention up to date. Ohio residents only.

STS is a foster-based and volunteer-run rescue. We do not have a physical location or set hours for you to meet dogs, and it does take time to answer each inquiry. All dogs are in foster homes and once an application is approved and a home visit is completed you will be able to schedule meet and greets with available dogs.
