Meet Griffin #6

Everyone, please meet Griffin #6, a shy and sweet Labbie boy. Griffin is approximately 3 years old and weighs 58 pounds. He had a rough beginning as he was found running down a busy highway and brought to the local shelter. Griffin started to shut down once he arrived there and curled up in the back corner of his kennel, scared to come forward and approach people. He is now in a foster home with children (16, 13, 8) and is becoming much more confident and settling into family life. He loves to play on his own with his toys and treats and looks forward to his daily walks around the neighborhood (https://youtube.com/shorts/j4wDiTlWiuU). He is timid and not a super active dog, but is learning that playing toys with his humans can be just as fun. He does overall prefer to approach you rather than you approaching him, but after a little rub under his chin and assurance that he is safe, he begins to open his heart and is showing to be a very loving and happy guy. Griffin has had exposure to other dogs, and when off leash, they become his best friends and teachers, and he loves to play with them. Griffin isn’t sure about cats, but he ignores them when he sees them. He prefers to lounge in his crate, it's his safe place. He is house trained and is doing great with walking on a leash and is working on continued exposure to all types of experiences, from walking down to the bus stop in the morning to send his human off to school, to taking a ride in the car to visit with friends and family. Griffin is such a sweet and kindhearted boy who will need some time to adjust to his new forever home. Having a fur sibling would help with his adjustment. Please contact us if you have that special patience to help Griffin enjoy being a dog again.
