**GRAYSON HAS BEEN ADOPTED!** Grayson is a beautiful, shy, gentle, kind-hearted pup looking for a loving forever family. We rescued this handsome fella from an overburdened animal control facility in rural Kentucky. Not much is known of his past, but he is estimated to be around 18 months old and weighs 60 pounds. Gray's breed is also unknown, but we think there may be some Chow, Shepherd, Retriever, and possibly St. Bernard in his lineage. Grayson is very shy and skittish with new people, but his tail wags constantly, and you can tell he so badly wants to be more confident and friendly! He warms up to new people and places after a day or two with kind words and yummy treats. Once he warms up, he's a highly affectionate, silly, loving, and happy dog. We rescued Grayson's littermate, Riley, about a month ago. At the time, we did not have the space to take them both but promised Grayson that we'd get him out of animal control as soon as we had room! His sister was just as scared and uncertain when she arrived but blossomed over a short period in foster care. We expect that Grayson will come along just as well as Riley did. We are sure that with just a little bit of confidence-building, training, and patience, he'll be a much more outgoing and confident pooch in time. Grayson's ideal guardians must be willing and able to give him all the time, love, and patience he will need to adjust to a new home and new people. He is crate trained and des excellent with his housetraining when kept on a regular schedule. He is also getting more comfortable walking on a lead but at this point, is still timid on a leash. Grayson loves, loves, loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with another dog. Pal's Place feels strongly that shy dogs such as him should be placed into a home with at least one existing canine to provide a good role model and a sense of security and courage. Grayson is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date with vaccines. He is also taking monthly flea and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee to the rescue is $375. He is currently in a foster home in Chicago and can be seen by appointment only after applying.
