Meet Granny Parker
The only traits Miss Bonnie Parker has in common with her namesake are her understated good looks and her ability to steal your heart. So, instead of sticking with Bonnie Parker, we've affectionately started calling her Granny P.Â
Granny P is the most perfect dog you'll ever want to meet. A distinguished gal in her senior years (approximately 12 years old), she offers the much coveted personality type: low energy, quiet, well-mannered 4-legged companion.Â
Granny P loves food but knows her manners and waits for approval to dig in. She's super treat motivated and will try absolutely anything you feed her. She has the distinguished palette of a non-picky eater but she knows the good stuff when she gets it. In fact, she likes her #justfoodfordogs so much - the sound of it being opened wakes her from her sleep and she grunts like a pig in heaven.
Shs's also an excellent sleeper and will nap just about anywhere. We've seen her sleep in the dirt at adoption events simply because she could. Though she prefers to sleep with her other pack mates and will move from a very comfy place to join them wherever they are. Granny P enjoys walks, on her terms, which means asphalt regardless of the temperature. Given she was the pet of an unhoused person for most, if not all, of her life, the hard ground is where her comfort is. She doesn't prefer grassy yards; she wants a hard surface that's as strong as her stubbornness. Stubbornness... which can sometimes be exhibited best on walks when she decides she's done or doesn't want to go the way you want to go. While she likes walks, she does sometimes fall over. When this happens, she seems to enjoy being part goat and will go stiff legged until you right her and she is on all fours again. Don't worry - she's always ok. Herstyle of walking is less cat walk and more hippo trot. She's got the trademark waddle down! Granny P is great with children; she lets them pet her and she provides sniffs in return and politely walks away when she's finished. She gives the best care stares - her love emanates from her eyes right into your soul. She's motivated by affection, food, and the possibility of a nap.
