Gracie Rose's Story

Meet Gracie Rose! At 9-yo, this very sweet, 20-pound mini Australian Shepherd is ready to snuggle her way into your heart and home.

Gracie Rose arrived into rescue a little timid of her new surroundings but is blossoming into a stellar, funny little companion as her confidence grows. She is house- and crate-trained, non-destructive, and quiet. Gracie Rose loves all people (good with kids 5+), enjoys walks, and thrives on routine. She adores positive attention which is a great motivator for this wiggly butt little girl dog.

Gracie Rose is still learning that new things aren't as scary as she thinks they are. Her new family will need to be extra careful about keeping her secure because she can run if something spooks her. Off leash adventures and dog parks aren't going to be a thing for Gracie Rose, she prefers to sport a snazzy harness/collar and leash at all times while outside. And because one of her magical traits is the ability to climb chain link fences, her new family will have a wooden fence to keep her safe. We think she might do well in an apartment/condo/townhouse situation and will consider that for her.

Gracie Rose is learning all kinds of new tricks, who knows if anyone ever took the time to teach her anything. She is learning to come when called, walk politely on leash, sit, lay down, and so on. She will need a patient, calm family who can teach her how to be a good dog. She thrives with routine and loves her walks. She's even been good on short, easy jogs under two miles. As Gracie Rose starts to feel safe, she is starting to play with toys and enjoy tasty chewies and biscuits.

Gracie Rose is neutral around respectful dogs, however she seems to prefer human companionship or a pile of pillows to fall asleep on. Due to high prey drive, she is unlikely to do well with cats.

Gracie Rose is up to date on shots, spayed, microchipped, and ready to live the rest of her life getting pets and cuddles from her new family. She is located in the Tacoma, WA area.

If you are interested in adopting Gracie Rose, please fill out the application on our website at: https://www.westernaustralianshepherdrescue.com/adoption-application.html.

We only schedule meet n greets after a completed application which includes a home visit and reference checks.
