STAR is a foster-based rescue. All our rescue animals stay in foster homes until adoption. We do not have a central facility. If you want to meet any of our adoptables please submit an application.

Hi, my name is Gracie! My foster mom says I'm very sweet, affectionate and playful. I love playing with toys, snuggling on the couch, giving kisses and rolling around in the grass. I am timid at first with new people, but warm up very quickly. I like playing with my foster fur siblings, so another playful dog sibling would be awesome, but not required. I went through heartworm treatment a few months ago and am feeling so much better now that I'm healthy! I'm still very young and would benefit from some training but don't worry...my foster mom knows lots of dog trainer friends that can help with that. I'm very food motivated, too, so training me will be easy. I have been through a lot in my short life and I'm looking for someone who will help me learn what it's like to have a family that loves them unconditionally. All STAR animals come vetted, Up to Date (UTD) on age appropriate shots and testing, spay and neutered (if of age,) and microchipped.

AGE DISCLAIMER:
Unfortunately, most of the orphaned animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don't bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know our pets' ages. Sometimes we don't. So we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarians best guess.
BREED DISCLAIMER:
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality,
not
by breed label .
Microchips:
For the safety of our dogs and peace of mind of our fosters and adopters, STAR microchips all dogs prior to adoption with Petlink Microchips. Please understand that all dogs MUST still wear a collar with ID tags (which include your current information) AT ALL TIMES. Please remember, our foster dogs are extremely important to us-- we will always take any of our dogs back, if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. Never surrender him/her to a shelter!
