Gracie's Story

Beautiful Gracie is so ready to find her happily ever after! She's such a sweet girl who is German Shepherd mix just over a year old and fully grown at 62 pounds. We don't know much about her background but she's living with a great foster family now who say she has an 'old soul' and is so easy to live with because she's low key, super sweet and a very gentle & polite girl. She has a low-key girl personality who is very smart and seems to have an 'old' soul. She loves everyone she meets and gets along great with other dogs. Gracie loves going for walks in local parks and will love going on car rides and adventures with you. She's healthy, up to date on all her vaccinations, house trained and crate trained so she's simply perfect. Gracie would be a perfect addition to any family and would love a doggies sibling but could be your one and only too. She just wants to be loved! Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (lrhrescue@gmail.com or call 516-459-3509) to get more info on this sweet girl!

Long Road Home's Adoption Policy
Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes.   What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.
