Meet Gonzo

Gonzo is a funny boy, has a deep love for his toys and can't resist a tasty treat. He is a remarkably gentle soul who craves reassurance and support. The vet was thoroughly impressed by his gentle nature and how effortlessly he could be handled.

He is a stage 10 clinger, constantly craving your presence and eagerly volunteering to help with all your tasks. With his crate and house training, intelligence, calm and loving nature, he is the perfect companion. He is well-behaved and gentle, taking treats delicately from your hand.?

He is easily redirected and exhibits impressive leash manners. He loves to exercise, and you can always count on him to fetch his ball and drop it at your feet. Seldom heard, his bark only breaks the silence when someone ventures near the house, causing anyone within earshot to jump out of their skin.?

He is a talker and will let out a low, playful growl to get your undivided attention. He has impressively handled interactions with other dogs through a fence, highlighting his social skills. The phrase "good boy" is like music to his ears.

His commands are: Good, okay, focus, sit, down, wait, working on stay, drop it, out, leave it, easy, come and no.

We believe Gonzo was mistreated, and now we are teaching him that hands are meant for gentle affection and love. Gonzo's reaction to new individuals is characterized by pensiveness rather than aggression. He is not fond of loud noises and has prey drive but, he is easily redirected.

We would like Gonzo to go to a home that has humans that have experience with dogs and dog training. For him, the perfect home would have calm, non-reactive large dogs, while avoiding cats or small prey.

Please give him a chance. Thank you for listening.
