Meet Gomez<br/>Gomez is our handsome three year old Aussie mix! He came to HAP when the shelter in Kentucky no longer had room for him. And let us be the first to tell you that one look with those stunning dual colored eyes and you'll be in love! Not only is Gomez a beautiful dog, he has the personality to go along with it. He's your typical herding breed dog with lots of energy but he has a nice balance where he will snuggle up and cuddle as well. Gomez hasn't met a person he hasn't liked and will immediately lean his butt in for rubs before fully pressing his hold body into you for maximum cuddles! In terms of getting his energy out, he's happy to go for hikes or long walks on the beach or even chase one of his dog friends around in his never ending quest to herd all the things possible! Gomez is smart enough and food motivated enough that the sky's the limit with training for him. So if you're looking for an active, ready to take on all of life's adventures companion, Gomez is the guy for you! <br/><br/>Gomez recently spent time in a foster over the holiday and here's what they had to say about him: "Man oh man, my man Gomez! I've taken several pups home for a break from the shelter before and Gomez was one of the best ever and instantly fit into whatever I was up to. We went for a few hikes, a few strolls on the beach, a trip to the park, and he was always up for whatever and did great in every environment and with every person he met! When we were home, he was quick to settle in and didn't have an accident once his entire stay. Because of how good he was, I rarely left him alone but the one or two times I did he was fine and didn't get into anything. The only thing he really even took a second with was getting in and out of the car. I'm not sure if it's because I have a high rise Jeep but I did have to coax him in and lift him a few times but he was getting better! Gomez was an awesome companion for the holiday and I can't wait to see him again!" <br/><br/>If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process<br/>is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this <br/>specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you <br/>to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the <br/>meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption<br/>fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal <br/>testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
