Meet Goku
Breed: Best guess: mix of yellow Lab, Shepherd and possibly Carolina Dog (“American Dingo”)
Young adult—Male--Large (75 lbs.)–Color: light yellow.
Characteristics: Smart, energetic, affectionate.
Coat: short/medium
House trained: yes!
Health: Neutered, Up-to-date on vaccination, as well as heartworm, flea, and tick meds.
Other dogs: He would probably good in a home with other dogs if properly introduced.
Cats and children: we have no experience with Goku with them.
Goku is between 2 and 4 years old and weighs 75 lbs. We guess he’s a mix of yellow Lab, Shepherd, and possibly Carolina Dog (also called “American Dingo”).
He is energetic and thus needs a firm, consistent, and experienced owner with a fenced yard, which unfortunately we do not have. Goku needs exercise, and is agile and beautiful, especially leaping after a ball! We love him, but as seniors we realize that he deserves a younger (or stronger) person or family, who could more easily take him on daily walks, hikes or runs. He loves playing with his toys but will also lounge with us on the sofa or at our feet. He sleeps with us, very quietly. He’s good on leash, but if he sees another dog, he often barks and pulls. When appropriately introduced he plays with other dogs quite easily. When he meets people in the house, he is gentle and friendly, but he’s sometimes cautious with people he meets outdoors. He can be left home alone without being crated. Personally, I’d love to see him in a home with someone who lives or works at home!
Goku is very bright and typically does not jump on people, but he often does need to be reminded of correct behavior. If you'd like to adopt Goku please apply to adopt at www.purple-paws.org :)
