Introducing Glimmer, a gorgeous chihuahua mix who is looking for a patient, loving forever home.

Glimmer was one of over 100 chihuahuas rescued from a severe hoarding situation in Central Texas. Despite this awful start to her life, Glimmer has emerged to become a playful and happy dog within the bounds of her comfort zone! She really lights up around other playful dogs her size but is still working on understanding human affection.

Glimmer has come on leaps and bounds since she was first rescued and we know that with the care of an experienced dog owner, she will be able to continue to thrive! She doesn’t yet take food from her human and doesn’t like to be picked up, but she does allow pets and will boop her human with her little nose.

Glimmer is an agile and playful little girl. She absolutely lights up around playful dogs of her size, it’s a beautiful thing to see! She has been friendly to all of the dogs that she has met, and she is cat friendly too!

Glimmer is around 3 years old and weighs 7.5 lbs. Glimmer would do well with children who understand boundaries, but we wouldn’t recommend a home with young kids due to her shyness. Glimmer is crate trained but hasn’t mastered outside pottying yet – this is something that she will need to continue to work on as her social skills progress!

Given her history, it makes sense that Glimmer can be a little shy with new humans so being calm during initial meetings will help her to feel more confident. A similarly sized, confident canine sibling in the home would be ideal! Apply today to meet this wonderful little girl!
