Gizmo Mixed Breed Madison, WI

Hello, my name is Gizmo! I'm a small guy, around 13 lbs, with a nice brindle coat and a frosted face. I was surrendered to a shelter in Tennessee after my owner died. Best guess is that I'm about 8 years-old. I still have pep in my step and get around just fine, including going on walks, using steps, and jumping up on the couch. I'm a nice little couch snuggler and I'm good with sleeping near other pets. I love affection, pets, and ear and butt scratches. I'm very food motivated! When I'm excited I will spin around in a circle; I bet this could be turned into a cute trick. I'm very good with other dogs. I tend to be the guy who hangs back and lets the other dogs be the boss, at least at first. I'm happy to be part of the pack but also would be fine alone so I can get all the attention. I'm excellent with cats. I've met older (10+ year-old) kids and liked them. I am a little jumpy about being picked up, though, so I might prefer kids who are old enough to be respectful about that. I had a dental but only needed a cleaning, no teeth removals. I love going outside to sniff in the yard or go on walks. I can dart around a bit on the leash but I'm easy to control because of my small size. I'm pretty quiet so far but I will on occasion bark at suspicious things (like leaves falling past the window or vacuum cleaners). I'm fully crate trained and can be crated for the day while you're at work. (I love kongs to keep me occupied!). I've made a lot of progress with housetraining since I arrived. I always go potty when you take me outside but right now I still need some monitoring inside. I'm a sweet little guy who wants to be someone's buddy. If that might be you, fill out an application!

Dogs from Underdog Pet Rescue come with the following medical care already provided:

Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella Vaccinations (as age appropriate-puppy adopters may need to cover some vaccine boosters)
Heartworm Test (for dogs over 9mo)

Deworming
Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative
Any other necessary medical treatment as recommended by veterinarian

Our adult dog adoption fee is $350. Our puppy (under 5 mo) is $425. Our senior dog (over 8 yrs) is $250.
