Gizmo is currently in a foster home in Des Moines, WA & is available for meet & greets!

Introducing the one and only --Gizmo!

If you are looking for rainbows and sunshine in your forever furry friend then stop scrolling now! Gizmo is the perfect combination of every dog his foster mom has ever met, and you will have hit the lottery if you get to spend your days with him as your co-pilot.

Gizmo is an approximately 2 year old, 40 pound super happy go lucky pit and ?? mix that was found wandering around TX during the big freeze. He is house trained and hangs out in his kennel when his humans leave the house. He is great with children (current family has 2 kids-3 & 7) and he plays respectfully with his 14 year old canine foster brother. When we are out and about-he wags his tail vigorously and greets everyone (humans and other dogs) as though they are his best buddies. Gizmo was in a foster home with cats when he was in Houston and he did just fine with them.

He loves walking with the family and doesn't pull on the leash. He can go for 12 miles or just a cruise around the block. Gizmo is happy with whatever and whenever. He responds perfectly to the word "No" and immediately stops what he is doing. His foster mom then provides him with the appropriate outlet (ie. bone, squeaky toy, etc.) and hasn't had to be told "No" twice. He has not shown any glaring bad habitats (no chewing, no resource guarding, no digging, etc.) He will jump slightly when he's excited to see someone (we are working on this.)
Gizmo loves spending his days on the couch next to his humans, and his foster family cherishes this bonding time with him.

He loves playing with his toys both independently and with his humans . He has learned how to sit, lay down and he will know how to shake by the end of this week. He has not yet barked while with his foster family so we don't even know what he sounds like. However, he does communicate. He gives a low warning growl if the children are doing something he doesn't like, and he gives a slight whimper when his foster mom leaves. If his forever family has children then they will need to be taught how to hear and respond appropriately to his warning signals to prevent any issues.

***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***

The first step in our process is filling out an application. We will review your application as soon as we are able- there are two of us and we do the best that we can. We review applications on a first come first serve basis and look for the best fit/match for the dog and applicant.
