Meet Giovanni
"Gio" is a four year old ten pound male yorkshire terrier.
He came to us after living his life at the end of a chain on someone's front porch with
just a small crate to go inside. He learned not to trust strangers so he barks at strangers and takes time to acclimate to new people. Gio is a prickly character who needs to go to someone with excellent dog skills and a lot of patience. He seems better with females than males. He is extremely sensitive to noise and seems afraid of noises and may react badly. He has come a long way in foster care and once he acclimates to his person and trusts them he is a sweet dog who will lay at your side and follow you everywhere. He can be loving and calm. He is currently fostered with three other dogs, he is fine with the two beta dogs but is not getting along with the alpha male. He is housetrained and can walk on leash. Gio cannot go to a home with children or cats. He would benefit from another dog who is his size and a submissive temperament.
Gio's best chance for success is in a quiet environment. He should be kenneled at night, noises that surprise him will trigger him to bark and charge. We would also like a commitment for Gio to attend training sessions. He is fully vetted and heartworm negative, his adoption fee is $200
