Ginny's Story

***** Ginny has been at the shelter longer than we would like so she is a member of our Lonely Hearts Club and her adoption fee has been waived. *****

Ginny is a sweetheart with an interesting story. Her journey includes a long trip from China to a rescue, and now she's here at DCHS to find her new home. She can be protective of her space and people, so she must be the only dog in the household. Ginny is also still learning to trust gentle handling and will need a patient owner who can understand and respect her boundaries while they help her gain confidence and trust in people. For this reason, small children will be too much for her and she would thrive best in a home with adults. She may prefer potty pads during bad weather, and she’ll go home with helpful resources on body handling, reactivity, confidence building, and potty training. In the right home and with loving patience, we know Ginny will blossom to be the most loyal companion.

Medical History: Ginny had a dental procedure at DCHS but otherwise remains overall healthy! It's still recommended to get them into the vet as soon as possible after adoption so they can get to know each other.

Weight: 30 lbs

Adoption Fee: Ginny's adoption fee has been waived to help her find her new home.
