Ginger (FKA Geraldine) Pit Bull Terrier & English Bulldog Mix Scranton, PA

Aug. 9, 2021 - After two years in her adoptive home, Geraldine (now Ginger) was returned to rescue through no fault of her own. Her previous adopter is moving to another state and is not able to take her at this time. She doesn't even look like the same dog. We left her previous pictures and video in the post for comparison. We are shocked at her condition. She has almost doubled her weight and she is under treatment for degenerative joint disease. The treatment is daily Rimadyl and Gabapentin. Ginger is now about 6 years old according to our estimation but she does appear to be older. However, she is still the same super friendly girl who loves every single person and dog that she meets. She still loves to be loved and get lots of belly rubs. Ginger is NOT a fan of cats so we will be doing our best to find her a home where there are no kitties. Ginger is going to need a home where someone can work with her losing some weight. She will not be able to tolerate a ton of exercise right now so the challenge will be ongoing. But, once you meet her and see what a GREAT dog she is.... the task will seem easier than expected. This beautiful girl has lost about ten lbs., if off her pain meds. and is dong GREAT!! She will now be spending the "happily-ever-after' part of her life in North Abington Township, PA!!

March 3, 2019 - Meet Sweet Geraldine!! This compact little Bully mix was recently rescued from the euthanasia list at a high kill shelter in SC after being brought in as a stray. She is listed as being 2-3 years of age and she weighs about 40 lbs. This super friendly, kissy, wiggly girl is an adorable low rider who can't help but make you smile with how affectionate and how cute she is! Just watch her video and see if she doesn't make you smile. Geraldine has met a variety of dogs during her stay at the shelter and she has done well with each and every one of them. Her tail is always wagging and she's always ready to make new friends. Geraldine is best suited for a home with no kitties but would, most certainly, be up for a friendly resident dog who is looking for a buddy. Geraldine is always ready for some kisses and snuggles from people and she is such a happy girl to be around. She will love you with her whole heart and surely will be a loyal, faithful, fun companion. Geraldine has already been spayed, brought up-to-date with vaccinations, micro-chipped and she has recently been treated for heart-worm disease. This lovely lady is all ready for a "forever" home of her very own. Geraldine's suggested adoption donation is $300 to help cover the cost of ongoing vet bills.
