Meet Gill
Hi, I’m Gill — a 1 to 2-year-old, 13-pound pup with a sweet soul and a shy little heart.
I was rescued by The Sato Project from a heartbreaking hoarding case in Manatí, Puerto Rico, where I lived in a home with over 30 other dogs. It was an overwhelming and scary start to life, but now I’m safe — and for the first time, I’m learning what kindness feels like.
When I was first rescued, my skin was in very bad shape, but thanks to medical baths and gentle care, I’m healing more and more each day. I’m finally healthy and getting ready to fly into Morristown, NJ around November 8th — and I’m hoping the next part of my journey includes a family to call my own.
Because of my past, I’m still shy when meeting new people, but I’m also incredibly sweet and eager to trust. I’ll thrive in a loving, patient, and understanding home, where I can go at my own pace and feel safe. A quiet home — maybe with another calm dog — would help me continue to blossom.
If you’re the kind of person who sees the beauty in quiet progress and believes every dog deserves a second chance, I’d love to meet you.
Gill is ready for love — soft, slow, and forever

About The Sato Project:
The Sato Project has been working hard since 2011 to rescue and rehabilitate the stray dogs of Puerto Rico, known locally as “satos.” To date, we’ve saved over 8,000 dogs and are committed to stopping the overpopulation crisis with spay/neuter and vaccination programs. Your adoption helps us continue this vital work.
